The dragon king Bahamut launched an invasion across all worlds but gets imprisoned in the Tower by the Creators. In a final gambit the creators filled the Tower with all the worlds, those free of the dragon king and those that were in the middle of war and incorporated The System into the Tower. That's how Players who climb the Tower to stop the dragon king from continuing his invasion came to exists.
