Synopsis
An era where the rot of peaceful stagnation covers the empires is an era of conquest. The old order of Medici have diverged from their faith; the old empire of Qin have lost the imperial mandate; the republic of Caesari trample over their citizens' discontent.
Yet, non est ad astra mollis e terris via. As millions vie for command, millions more gasp for air and lament the poor fate of the land, torn apart by magic and swords alike.
As Imperial Seals - heavenly mandates to rule - rain down across the split continent, all is equalised in the face of a new era - an era where any single man can theoretically kneel to the heavens and establish their own dynasty. Where hundreds of years of 'peace' is shattered in hours, plunging the world into feudal disarray. Where true power is fleeting, the loss thereof not unique to your reign.
An immaterial era.
This story follows our protagonist, Eleanor, as she unearths the truth behind who controls the world - incrementally gaining strength to challenge these structures through political skulduggery, knowledge, and magic (light LitRPG, no hard stats/levels) - and eventually establishing an empire of her own.
Mild historical elements; set in alternate history; no isekai-style introduction; warfare & strategy are main themes; multi-perspective insights will be present, but majority of chapters will be in first-person. Mild inspiration from some Xianxia elements, but can mostly be taken for Ancient China's contribution.
