Synopsis
Held captive by a mysterious government agency posing as a boarding school, a powerless orphan boy named Ryō learns the hard way that sometimes it takes dying to start living––literally. After awakening his superability, the meager boy embarks on a perilous quest to help the most dangerous and surveilled student at the Carlisle School escape.
But just who is this violent monster, and why help them escape?
Well, this monster happens to be a girl for starters. More specifically, she happens to be a girl named Emery. Most importantly, she happens to be the girl who Ryō has been madly in love with for as long as he can remember.
Consider The Hero of a Thousand Deaths to be a contemporary retelling of Romeo and Juliet… if Romeo was a depressed Japanese orphan and Juliet was a violent killer capable of weaponizing her own blood into semtex grenades.
