The six gods are no better than bored children using lesser beings as play things to entertain them, each god has a chosen one that is imparted with a portion of power to make it more exciting. Some will play the game as it was intended while others with rebel with all they have. Granted magic by the gods who will be twisted by power and who will become a protector. (Story has multiple Lead characters who will not interact with one another until after their individual story has played out.)
