Sandra Larsen is a studying mage and mechanic, and her uncle, Ken Larsen is a detective and a former soldier. They live together in the capital city of the nation of Edonia, a nation that hosts all sorts of creatures both magical and mundane, making a home for both the arcane and technology. However, despite the nation making it five years after the great war, all sorts of problems creep forth from its violent shadow that threatens to shake the very firmament that Edonia's peace lies upon. What will Sandra and Ken do when they get embroiled in a conspiracy that inevitably disrupts their lives and the lives of those around them? The God Machine is set in an expansive 1920s style fantasy world that draws heavy inspiration from the real world history of World War 1, the Final Fantasy series, Fullmetal Alchemist, and real world mythologies. You can expect an action-packed dramatic noir mystery mixed with steampunk and magic with a dash of horror.
