Everly stared up at the teacher unblinkingly ”yes do you need something Ms.sugarcone” Mrs.valent asked staring down her long pimply nose and through her glasses at her least favorite student ”no it just help’s me concentrate better when I look at the speaker” Everly said while aiming her green eyes into her teachers pale gray ones ”well then i guess we’ll continue class” she said with a haughty huff and then she once again dove into that days complicated lesson leaving almost every student flabbergasted those of which did not include Everly who was doodling on her papers but still soaking in every word the teacher said like a sponge absorbing oil. Everly startled out of her daze, she shook her head and looked around at the loud sound of the bell ”class dismissed and don’t forgot to do the two assigned essay’s and three worksheets which are both due in two days time” mrs.valent said despite the fact that everybody had already gotten up when she had said class dismissed ”well my mother always said to speak positively for example instead of: don’t forget it is preferable to say: please remember and so forward” Everly said genuinely as she passed mrs.valent before hurrying away “hey ev’s, good one there” it was Scarlett, Everly's closest friend although she also didn’t understand her sometimes ”thanks, but I was just saying my honest view on the opinion” she said while tossing her bit longer than collar bone length straight red hair “wow, chill there girl she didn’t mean to offend you she was just saying her honest opinion on the matter” a random boy from their math class tried butting in but stopped when he saw the intensity that Everly fumed with as her slightly tanned face turned slightly red causing her few freckles to stand out warningly on her nose bridge and cheekbones and her nostrils flared, Scarlett gave him a look that caused him to sidle off with failed casualness and her to professionally flick her locks of blonde hair which she had perfectly parted from her high pony ”thanks but I’m walking home myself today” Everly said a little sadly although Scarlett didn’t notice any signs of reluctantness in her voice but just stocked off angrily with her violet and burgundy backpack swinging in rythym with her upset steps. Everly started the lonely walk home with a lump in her throat today she would be speaking to the professional top rated therapist having gotten dragged to about fifteen different doctors because of her no smile, sour face problem by her parents and with none of them having worked her mother had researched through the world of therapists and brought her to them and today was only the second time when they landed upon a good one that comes to your house upon request and with her staying in the area Everly’s mother had showed her all the helpless, clueless and giving up notes from the many others and she had rarely agreed to work this one time when she’s visiting family in other words vacation. Everly looked up at the double wooden doors

surprised at her legs having carried her on the known route as her mind wandered ”honey I’m glad your home on time today because madeline kafer will be here in a round five minutes and from what I heard about her she’s never late and always keeps her word” Mrs.sugarcone had swung open the door with a beige file folder in her right hand ”hey mom I’ll come down in five minutes then” Everly said while grumpily stocking past her mothers one outstretched arm and heading up the stairs and to her small white bedroom which she had got to herself because of her “problems” and because it was so small anyway. Everly got out her blue tooth headphones, connected them and then turned on vibing music which she always loved and sometimes even danced to with a straight face but today it didn’t make a difference to her bad mood which was caused by Scarlett being upset with her ”Everly honey come on down Madeline Kafer is here” she took off her head phones and ran down the stairs…

forty five minutes later Madeline Kafer was saying her apologies to Mrs.sugarcone “I am so sorry, I do not now the problem or solution, you said that you tried therapy, funny video, jokes, music and all those stuff” she asked while reaching for her bag, already knowing the answer “yes, but-” she said as Madeline stood up ”right, so then I think she’ll have to wait a few years to try safe, supervised and of course legal and approved drugs and other stuff like that because for now she’s too young and I don’t even think that, that will help” she said as she closed the clasp on her purse while staring at Everly who was looking more sulky and depressed than usual due to having gotten Scarlett upset at her and wanting her only friend back (because of her no smile problem people thought she was mentally ill, weird and rude).Madeline reached for the door knob with a pitiful look but ran away from it as it swung forward “hey Ev-oh, am I interrupting something important” Scarlett had burst through the door with her backpack still on her shoulders “no, not at all sweetie, come on in” Everly’s sweet mother said while beckoning to Scarlett with a sweet smile ”scar, are you still mad at me?” Everly asked hopefully as she steeped over the door threshold making her jean shorts rip a little by the lining ”so junky, I just got these four days ago” she muttered before giving Scarlett a searching look, it felt like forever till Scarlett answered and in that time her fake black nails anxiously bent over the edge of her slightly oversized burgundy sweater “well…that’s actually why I came here, to tell you that I had no right to be upset at you and that just because you said you wanted to walk home alone that does not mean didn’t wanna walk with me but that you just-”but she was interrupted by Everly who had pulled her into a big bear hug and when they separated Everly was smiling.
