Synopsis
Nanites have become mainstream. For the last 30 odd years they have started to invade every facet of life. Becoming so ingrained into our lives and culture that when a child is developing inside the womb there are already nanites from the parents body overviewing the health of the child. Repairing any small defects, preventing almost all non-genetic abnormalities that can occur pre-birth. In less than 10 years nanites were transmitted knowingly and unknowingly to every single person on the planet, even those in 3rd word countries with little to no access to technology were now able to enjoy one of the most technologically advanced pieces of machinery known to man.
Allen is a retired Sergeant from the Air Force. When news of a virus spreading through the nanites makes it public he thinks very little of it. It's barely a concern, a patch will be implemented and it will be removed. At least the virus seems to be benign. Months pass, the virus is gaining more and more momentum, a status bar is shown to every infected, moving slowly at first, months for a couple % infecting more and more at an exponential rate. When Allen gets infected he's a little annoyed but theres not much he can do except wait for a patch and deal with an annoying status bar hoving in his vision.
Things change quickly though. The status bar hits 25% what took hours to get a few percent before takes seconds, before he knows it the bar fills to 100%.
Phase One Begins.

Hey guys, so my first story was a flop and I've had trouble continuing and creating a plot. Not only that but if it's already no longer enjoyable at chapter 5 I dont want to prolong the inevitable. With that being said, here is my second attempt at a story. Where I actually went through the process of deciding exactly what I wanted to do with the story beforehand.
