In the beginning there was nothing; save an endless void. This is a prologue to the second age - it talks about how a sentient universe came to be and how it, in turn, created a planet and a host of gods to occupy it.  One day, Dem - The God of Death - is put out of commission and this omnipresent entity, who has thus far remained undiscovered, must pitch in to save the cycle of reincarnation.  It is on its rounds that this ultimate God discovers, although it knows everything about mortals, it cannot understand the emotions which drive them.
