Volume 2 Chapter 9 King Slays the Dragon

In the end, Wuma led a small group of elites in attacking various powerful beasts along their journey. Fortunately, the apes cooperated and managed to repel the attackers with the sharp spear of destiny, even thwarting giant beasts wielding extraordinary power.

As they traveled, the apes diligently recorded the enemies they encountered and the nearby terrain. However, despite their vigilance, their numbers dwindled along the way. When Wuma glanced back and saw only a few dozen brothers following him, despair washed over him.

Just as he contemplated leading his remaining brothers back, a scout ape ahead suddenly appeared jubilant.

Quickening his pace, Wuma approached to see a bright expanse ahead— a massive river surged forth, countless beasts and birds gathered to drink from its waters, and fertile fish leaped joyfully. It was another village adorned with lush willows and blooming flowers! Never had Wuma expected to discover such a paradise on Earth. Abundant food and inexhaustible water—this land seemed tailor-made for the apes!

Overjoyed, Wuma rallied his brothers to search for a suitable place to build their new home. Simultaneously, he dispatched messengers back to the base camp to report their discovery. Eventually, aside from a few seeds retained in the central ancestral land, most of the apes relocated to this fertile haven.

Henceforth, the apes no longer fretted over food shortages, even learning to preserve salted fish. With each passing year, their numbers soared.

Moreover, residing by the river facilitated the advent of pottery, greatly enriching the apes' material culture. Among these innovations, they stumbled upon runes for counting, akin to those found on the truth slate.

This revelation thrilled Wuma. Regrettably, he still couldn't decipher the slate's contents, but he suspected it held a more efficient method of numerical recording.

"Downfall!"

With a resounding crash, the dominant crocodile within a hundred-mile radius fell to Wuma's spear. By this time, Wuma, now in his thirties, had tirelessly governed and steered the ethnic group's continuous growth and expansion over the years.

However, he also recognized his limitations. Despite wielding the spear of destiny with invincibility, the threat posed by giant beasts with extraordinary power remained daunting.

Moreover, Wuma noticed his physical vigor waning in recent years, prompting concern.

Then, one day, he realized that extraordinary creatures weren't necessarily born strong. Many started out weak but grew immensely powerful as they matured. In addition to innate bloodline powers, their breathing methods played a significant role!

"We apes may be born weak, but we excel at utilizing everything around us!" Wuma suddenly found inspiration. Consequently, he dispatched individuals to observe extraordinary creatures closely, endeavoring to emulate their aura-absorbing breathing methods.

"Yes, I've discovered how to learn other creatures' learning the breathing method early on. With continued effort, we may soon develop a cultivation method suited to the human physique."

With a satisfied grin, Rico watched as the apes, organized by Wuma, diligently practiced the breathing techniques.

Once the ape-men refined a breathing method suitable for human cultivation, perhaps Rico himself could attempt it and implement it to his own. After all, he wielded the identity of the creator god, even if he was only rated a 10\100 in terms of combat effectiveness on earth!

The most brilliant breathing method in the Doomsday world belonged to Rahir, but she was a tree! Rico was a human—practicing her method would likely prove futile! But compare to his star cultivation technique it was like a page compare to a holy book.

Stolen story; please report.

There was hardly any extraordinary energy present in reality. “Maybe I can cultivate some bodyguards on earth, what kind of king stands alone. But there's scarcely any extraordinary energy on earth. Relying solely on breathing methods for cultivation would only yield modest strength in one's lifetime, incapable of bestowing extraordinary power to them unless I send them to Gaia for training but they won’t be able to move freely from the pressure and might just die upon arrival," Rico touched his brows in annoyances.

"In any case I can still can still absorb aura from the small world. However, this aura is peanuts compare when I cultivate in the fog realm. Only during each era's catastrophe can it become anything of substantial feedback."

Wuma had begun practicing a breathing technique inspired by the amalgamation of thousands of giant beasts and the modified human breathing method developed by the researchers.

With ceaseless practice day and night, coupled with sporadic adjustments, the ancient human breathing method gradually evolved under Wuma's guidance. He keenly sensed the thin aura in the atmosphere swiftly being absorbed by him, gradually strengthening his physique!

Wuma imparted his transformed breathing method to the clan, noticing that the younger they started, the more profound the cultivation effects. Consequently, he mandated that every newborn child commence practice as soon as they were capable of understanding.

Ten years later, the ape population had swelled to over 100,000! They settled on both banks of the river, which they christened the Imperial River, also known as the Mother River!

At this juncture, Wuma, now in his forties, patrolled the territory. Over the years, his renown had skyrocketed. Wuma not only possessed formidable martial prowess but also commanded the admiration of every ape. They held their leader in sincere reverence!

Suddenly, Wuma gazed skyward, shouting, "All personnel, be alert! The Red Dragon Fahoshi approaches! Elderly and children, seek refuge swiftly. Young soldiers, arm yourselves and join me to confront the enemy!"

At the leader's warning, the tribe erupted into chaos, yet swiftly organized themselves to hide. Young soldiers gathered around Wuma, clutching their spears.

With the apes' advancement, various formidable extraordinary creatures began launching sporadic sneak attacks. Some succeeded, while others fell to the apes' counterattacks!

Among these threats, the Red Dragon Fahoshi posed the gravest danger, leaving a trail of death and devastation in its wake with each assault!

Glaring angrily at the approaching red dragon, Wuma bellowed, "Attack!"

The soldiers behind him hurled their spears relentlessly. Though most were repelled by the dragon's formidable defenses, a few found their mark, striking the dragon's vulnerable spots, such as its eyes. Enraged and in pain, Fahoshi cast a furious gaze upon the tiny pests below.

Baffled by the apes' sudden surge in strength, Fahoshi spewed dragon breath furiously, but the soldiers deftly rolled away.

As Fahoshi descended in response to the assault, a sense of unease crept over the dragon. It turned to find the apes ensnaring its feet with thick vines.

"Boom!"

Infuriated, Fahoshi attempted to shake off the bindings, but the grass ropes, crafted from the divine tree's vines, proved unyielding, persistently constricting its movements!

The soldiers pulled the ropes taut, enduring being flung about, determined to subdue the dragon.

Stepping forward, Wuma brandished the spear of destiny. "Dragons are natural predators, but today, I shall uphold justice and avenge our fallen brethren!"

Bound and unable to employ its flight, Fahoshi had just expended its dragon breath and couldn't use it again immediately. However, its raw power remained undiminished. With a mighty sweep of its head, it sent Wuma crashing to the ground, creating a sizable crater. Yet, to the soldiers' relief, Wuma emerged unscathed. Over the years, not only had others grown stronger, but Wuma's own strength had undergone a profound transformation!

Suddenly, a thin trail of hot blood oozed from beneath Fahoshi's scales, evidence of the injuries sustained during their collision! Glaring furiously at the spear in Wuma's grasp, Fahoshi demanded, "What manner of weapon is this?" It couldn't fathom how easily the spear had wounded it. Was such a sharp weapon even conceivable?

"Haha!" Wuma laughed triumphantly. "This is the artifact bestowed by the God of Creation, known as the Spear of Destiny! Today, this spear shall be bathed in dragon's blood, sealing your fate!"

With a thunderous roar, Wuma charged at Fahoshi. The dragon retaliated ferociously, flinging soldiers skyward, but Wuma agilely evaded its strikes, seizing every opportunity to counterattack!

The two titans clashed in a spectacle of sheer power. Fahoshi ranked among the continent's mightiest, second only to the enigmatic divine tree. Yet, today, with the clan's support, Wuma held his ground against it!

Witnessing the spectacle, other extraordinary creatures were stunned. They couldn't fathom how the ape, once trampled underfoot, now possessed such formidable strength! Even the Rahir God Tree extended its branches to observe the breathtaking duel. It hadn't anticipated that the apes, whom it had once sheltered from extermination, would evolve into such formidable adversaries.

The battle defied all expectations, raging on for three days and three nights. Soldiers continued to reinforce their ranks and entangle Fahoshi with grass ropes. Whenever the dragon attempted to unleash its fiery breath, Wuma seized the opportunity to target its vulnerable scales with his spear, almost choking off its flames!

The River nearby boiled under Fahoshi's infernal blaze, countless fish and shrimp perishing in the scalding waters.

Finally, as dusk descended, Wuma transformed into a streak of light, plunging his spear into Fahoshi's eyes. With this decisive blow, the epic clash reached its climax! Wuma emerged bathed in dragon's blood, reborn anew, while the legendary Fahoshi toppled to the ground, vanquished.

"Fahoshi is no more!" Wuma's voice, tinged with blood, resounded as he stood atop the massive dragon's carcass, a towering figure of triumph.

He appeared akin to an ancient deity!

Astounded, the other extraordinary creatures gazed upon Wuma. The apes emerged from hiding, joining in the jubilation, extolling their leader's valor,

"Hail the King of the Apes!"

Gradually, the chant echoed throughout the land, heralding the rise of a new dominant species! A race distinguished not by innate power, but by the weapons in their hands and the knowledge they acquired!

"Hail the King of the Apes!"

"Hail the King of the Apes!"

"Hail the King of the Apes!"

On this historic day, the first generation King Wuma emerged, bathed in the blood of dragons!

The ape tasked with chronicling history chuckled as he witnessed the birth of the human king. With a stone knife in hand, he meticulously etched the image of the human king's triumph over the dragon, ensuring that future generations would be acquainted with the saga of this epic battle!
