Volume 2 Chapter 5 Fantastic Creature

The million-year-old ice age had finally passed, and resilient creatures began to flourish in the world. Aside from the remnants of ice and snow in the ocean depths, the earth had broken free from its shackles.

Seeds lay dormant beneath kilometer-thick ice, and the long-lost greenery reemerged. In the heart of the world, a green sapling once again proudly stood, its swaying branches seemingly defiant against adversity. "This suffering can't defeat me!" it seemed to proclaim.

"Speed up the time flow," Rico commanded, adjusting time and space once more. Having observed the Doomsday world all day, hunger gnawed at him, not in a real sense but a craving of the mind, his body was already super human and require no substance especially when in the Disc World. But a nice hot meal would feel nice, he was a gourmet after all.

After satisfying his hunger and thirst, Rico sighed, I’ve already escape the need for substance yet I still age slowly even with my star technique.

"Let's set a modest goal of longevity first!" Rico said, preparing for sleep. Tomorrow, the biological blood would arrive, marking the beginning of creating legendary creatures and the birth civilizations.

In his slumber, Rico continued to fantasize about how to guide the doomsday world towards better development. Despite experiencing multiple organism extinctions, the remaining creatures grew stronger with each generation. The emergence of civilization required opportunities, seeding, and accelerated development.

After all, as creatures grew stronger, so too did their ultimate harvests.

While Rico slept, the doomsday world continued to evolve at a rapid pace. Despite enduring three major extinctions, the creatures grew stronger with each generation, evolving in various directions. Monsters of all kinds vied for dominance, yet the central tree remained steadfast, declaring only herself as the king!

Her surroundings transformed into a sanctuary, with animals and plants thriving around her. However, any creatures threatening the giant tree faced siege by other accompanying animals.

Upon waking, Rico felt refreshed, his physical condition slightly better than before.

"What's happening?,” Rico questioned momentarily.

“Ah I see after each mass extinction, in addition to most of the original points gain, a small portion is also fed back to me like during the Cradle world, enhancing my spirit and flesh, Gaia doesn’t have such benefit as I ended such function a long while again, for better cycle of energy or better word for it, conservation.”

"Yesterday's three biological extinctions provided only a small portion of the energy feedback that improved my condition," Rico realized. "It seems the era's catastrophes may not necessarily be detrimental. Perhaps, in the future, I can increase disaster to ensure the world doesn't stagnate!"

"How many points were fed back yesterday?" Rico inquired.

"Yesterday, only the weakest creatures perished, lacking any extraordinary power. It was only after several deaths of the central giant tree that accumulated 15 origin points. The stronger the intelligent creature died, the greater the energy generated," Genesis explained.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"It seems there are up to ten thousand powerful and extraordinary creatures," Rico mused. "If ordinary creatures perish, I'll incur losses every time I create the world! Only civilized intelligent races and extraordinary creatures can generate profit."

Observing the flourishing world, Rico noticed countless giant beasts engaged in battle, each towering almost five or six meters tall. "You are what you eat," Rico sighed, contemplating as he headed out. Today, the biological blood sent by the supplier had arrived—it was time to collect it from the express delivery point!

Returning with a large amount of frozen box, Rico eagerly sliced through the tape with scissors. Inside each were at least 200 test tubes, each labeled differently.

"Chimpanzee blood? White horse blood? Lions?" Rico exclaimed in confusion, noticing various contents. Delving further, he found fur and peculiar objects. Perplexed, Rico decided to read the introductions first.

"Elephant blood? Rhinoceros blood? Incredible, to have access to all of these," Rico exclaimed in surprise. "These items may be small individually, but collectively, they represent a myriad of possibilities. They roam the ground, swim in the sea, and soar through the sky!"

Using Authority he continuously analyzes and absorbs, gradually enriching the gene template. With these genes, it can essentially create anything! Many animals on Earth share common ancestors, with distant predecessors evolving step by step, diversifying over time. In the next creation, Rico won't have to wait for the development of marine life; he can simply incorporate it directly!

Rico set up a room for experimentation. "Let's mix swan genes with those of a white horse and see if we can create a Pegasus."

"Huh? It seems feasible, but it doesn't seem to fly or run very fast," Rico noted as he mixed genes intending to create legendary creatures.

The pages of Enoch book turned, revealing the image of a Pegasus with white wings.

"Save this Petias gene. Although it may not be aesthetically pleasing, it's functional!" Rico quipped. "After all, whether one is strong or not is a matter of circumstance, but whether one is attractive lasts a lifetime! It's always good to have a backup plan!"

"Let's mix lion and eagle genes this time," Rico decided, aiming to create a classic fantasy creature—the griffin!

This fusion proved challenging. After a minute, the result appeared in Enoch: an eagle-headed creature with phoenix wings.

Rico's eyes gleamed with excitement. Despite knowing that creating mythical creatures consumed precious points, the sensation of crafting them himself was exhilarating!

"This is excellent. It not only flies swiftly but also possesses formidable attack power. Keep this gene," Rico remarked, gazing at the depiction of the griffin's prowess with satisfaction. Suddenly, he pondered a sacred creature. If such a being were to manifest on Earth, it would likely cause seismic ripples throughout the world!

Feeling ambitious, Rico decided to aim high. "Let's combine genes from deer, camel, snake, fish, eagle, tiger, and cow," he declared. This time, he aimed to create the Chinese Dragon!

The Chinese revere dragons, considering themselves their heirs. The ancient emperors even claimed to be true dragon emperors, illustrating the dragon's elevated status in their culture. Rico couldn't help but imagine the awe-inspiring sight of a dragon soaring through the clouds, captured by satellites. It would surely astonish the entire world, especially the East!

However, the process failed even with Rico’s experience with genes and the wisdom from Enoch, such failure immediately poured cold water on Rico's aspirations. "The genes are too complex, and the integration fails, only natural evolution will help with it or I can master more wisdom from what Enoch left behind but such require me to be at a higher life level myself, what a shame."

Observing the resulting overweight, misshapen creature, Rico adamantly denied his involvement. It seemed he still lacked the necessary proficiency. One day, he vowed, he would bring Dragon into existence!

"The Pegasus and Griffin I just created are anything but ordinary; they're fantasy creatures," Rico smiled.

"Albeit the Pegasus is indeed ordinary compare to real fantasy beast, it’s just a horse with wings without any substance like in mythical stories. However, the Griffin contains traces of extraordinary power, possessing various magical abilities.

Since creating a dragon proved unattainable, Rico decided to retreat and attempt to craft a Western dragon instead. Although it lacked the benevolence associated with its Asian counterpart and typically played the role of a villain in stories, its strength remained unquestionable.

"Let's merge genes from cougars, bats, eagles, and crocodiles," Rico decided. The resulting creature displayed a towering red body, four legs, and two massive bat wings.

"Octopus gene, bat gene, chimpanzee gene," Rico brainstormed, creating a fusion of his thoughts.

Soon, a humanoid monster with an octopus head and bat wings appeared.

"Even the deity Cthulhu has emerged, though regrettably, it's merely an imitation, far removed from the tales' horrors," Rico remarked with a smile.

"Lion gene, sheep gene, poisonous snake gene!"

The mythical Chimera materialized before Rico's eyes.

"Lizard gene merged with killer whale gene."

Engrossed in the creation of mythical creatures, Rico watched as various monsters from legendary tales came to life before him. The experience was immensely enjoyable, reminiscent of his childhood days molding creatures from plasticine.

With each creation process required immense computing power from Rico and left a stinging headache, if not Rico would likely have continued creating creatures indefinitely!
