Volume 2 Chapter 10 Twilight Years

Rico observed the birth of the first king and nodded in approval.

"From apes to humans, this ethnic group can now rightfully be called the human race! This man is truly remarkable. He hasn't squandered his own cultivation in vain. Now, armed with the sharpness of the Spear of Destiny, he dares to challenge the dragon at the top of the food chain. However..."

Rico's gaze swiftly shifted to the other side of the globe. The burgeoning strength of the human race doubled the pressure on other creatures. They were not to be underestimated!

One by one, they were born with divine power and extraordinary wisdom. In terms of combat prowess and intellect, they were on par with the newborn human race. However, they were ultimately weak. If they were not united, Rico could almost see the end of other creatures in the Doomsday world, due to the resurgence of the ape!

The giant beasts that were strong enough to threaten them had been killed and tamed for generations, which had benefited the race. However, as Rico looked at the devouring ants that had just begun to explore the surface, he somehow felt that the human race would not be so easily dominated.

In the Doomsday world, at this time, with the birth of the king of human beings, the blank page of Enoch appeared again. The Doomsday calendar: the Middle Ages, the glaciers melted, everything revived, and the divine creatures dominated the world. The ape leader, Wuma, received divine enlightenment and obtained the three most precious treasures: the Spear of Destiny, the Fire of Civilization, and the Truth Stone.

He also simulated learning the breathing method of all things, successfully killed the dragon, bathed in dragon blood, and became the first generation of king. Deep in the ground, the ant queen did not satisfy with just the darkness and began to set foot on the earth. The ants became ferocious for the first time.

After reading the words written in the Book of Enoch, Rico pondered: "It seems that the protagonists of this generation are the human race and the ant race."

Although the human race in the Doomsday world was far from Earth, and they were basically not at the same level, Rico still had a good impression of the human race; otherwise, he would not have intervened. However, according to analysis, the potential of the devouring ants was very great, and it was uncertain who would prevail in the end!

Rico observed the world and did not intend to continue to intervene. He had given the human race a boost, and even if their development surpassed his expectations, he would remain uninvolved. On the contrary, if they fell behind, it was their own fault.

Although it seemed that the human race and the ant race were the strongest now, who knew if there would be stronger ethnic groups in the future?

With the killing of the Red Dragon, the human race established its hegemony, and the power of the human king shocked the Earth!

The death of the red dragon also bestowed a great gift upon the human race. The giant dragon was full of treasure. Its scales, armor, and weapons were invulnerable, impervious to water and fire. Except for the Spear of Destiny, the human race could no longer find weapons to breach its defenses!

There was no doubt that the dragon scales would become the strongest armor, and the dragon meat was extremely fresh and tender. However, except for the most powerful soldiers who could consume it, most people couldn't withstand the energy contained in dragon meat at all.

As for the dragon blood, it was even more potent. Only the king risked his life to merge with it. Except for him, no one could bear the power of the dragon!

There was no other option. The strong man of the human race could only seal up the precious dragon blood and wait for the next king to appear to use it. After bathing in the dragon blood, King Wuma regained his youth. He stood at the peak of his life once again, leading the people to expand their territory and increase their numbers.

The Earth was vast, and the human race was expanding, while other extraordinary monsters had also begun to resist!

"King Wuma, don't think I'm afraid of you!"

The Griffin King glared angrily at the king in the sky. Griffins circled around it, and other giant tigers and beasts stood beneath its feet.

King Wuma raised the spear in his hand, with a fully armed soldier behind him.

"Attack!"

With the king's roar, the two sides immediately collided, and the struggle between races could not be avoided!

No matter how brave the king was, he still struggled against the divine beast in the air, which had an innate advantage!

As long as the ground creatures revealed a trace of weakness, the creatures in the air could exploit it. The heavily armed brave soldiers continued to fall, and Wuma's eyes blazed as he brandished the Spear of Destiny. Finally, both sides retreated, taking their fallen comrades with them, and both suffered casualties!

Time flew by, like a white horse passing. King Wuma now had gray hair. Over the years, he had worked tirelessly to govern, constantly leading his clan to expand its territory and wage war with extraordinary creatures. It could be said that he had spent most of his life in battle. However, over the years, Wuma had become increasingly unable to continue.

Wuma gazed blankly at his gray hair. Those of his generation had long since passed away. In those years, he had buried his lover himself. Wuma knew that if he hadn't bathed in dragon blood, he would have succumbed to old age.

"I'm 300 years old this year, and it seems I'm in my twilight years," Wuma chuckled wryly.

"My mighty king, He who wield the Spear of Destiny, and lead us to strength for eternity," a wise man beside him couldn't help but interject. Under the leadership of the king, the human race had transformed from being in peril to becoming one of the strongest ethnic groups of the time. His achievements commanded awe from every clan.

"Who can evade death in heaven and earth? I have surpassed most individuals for two lifetimes. Even the mighty dragon, though it lives much longer than us, will eventually succumb to old age a thousand years later," Wuma shook his head with a smile.

"I have lived a life worthy of the human race. Let's begin preparations to select the second-generation leader!"

The wise man of the human race beside him was taken aback, but he eventually ceased speaking and immediately withdrew to gather others.

Wuma gazed at the distant earth. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow upon his face. The life of the man was like the sunset, swiftly transitioning into the eternal night.

Did he truly have no regrets in life?

"I fear only that I’m worthy of the eternal in heaven and earth," Wuma muttered, reminiscing about the creator who had appeared in his dreams.

Over the years, Wuma had explored the earth tirelessly. When he finally reached its end after numerous hardships, he found himself staring into the boundless ocean before him. Was the Creator somewhere on the earth? Or perhaps in the skies, or deep within the ocean?

"I truly wish to see you again," Wuma murmured to himself. He didn't seek from the creator god the secret to living longer, but rather to ask himself if he had fulfilled the task bestowed upon him all those years ago.

Wuma gently caressed the Spear of Destiny, and soon he made a decision.

When Wuma returned to the central ancestral land, the news of the king's impending abdication sent shockwaves through the human race. Countless hearts were broken, and many strong individuals secretly clenched their fists.

The divine tree Lahiri stood as majestic as ever, seemingly eternal. Even as the king of the people, Wuma still bowed respectfully to the god tree.

He knew that without the protection of the divine tree, there would be no human race as it existed now. Perhaps he would have perished long ago!

Legend had it that the central god tree was intertwined with heaven and earth. She was not only the first creature in existence but also the seed carried by the creator god! Enduring several catastrophes, the divine tree remained alive. If anyone in heaven and earth knew the creator of the world, it could only be her!

Gazing at the divine tree that towered over everything, Wuma couldn't help but feel a sense of awe, despite having seen it countless times. He softly inquired about the whereabouts of the creator god, and after a long silence, a voice echoed in his mind.

"I have spent most of my life in deep slumber. After several cycles of rebirth, I have forgotten much. I know no more about the Creator God than you do. He does not reside in this world. I only know that whenever the era comes to an end, he may appear and breathe life into the new era."

Gratefully, Wuma thanked the divine tree. From that moment on, he erected a grass hut beside the divine tree and began to carry boulders himself, preparing to carve the statue of the creator god!

Everyone assumed that the king was reluctant to succumb to old age and sought the guidance of the creator god, akin to the enlightenment he had experienced in his youth!

"This is the law governing the birth and death of all things. Even the divine tree has perished after several cycles of rebirth. Who among us can truly live forever, except the creator god?" An elder of the human race shook his head, watching the valiant king embark on what he deemed foolish endeavors. He, too, felt a pang of heartbreak.

Even the wisest king would become ordinary in the face of life, old age, illness, and death – such was the nature of humanity!
