Chapter 3 The Game Master

Amidst the dimly lit and somber atmosphere, a glowing orb hovered eerily in the center of the thick, grey mist that blanketed the area. The light emanating from this orb was beyond comprehension, appearing colorless yet simultaneously containing every imaginable hue.

The air was thick with moisture, as if it had recently rained, and carried with it a tantalizing scent that was almost irresistible. The aroma was so delicious that it made one's mouth water and their stomach grumble with hunger. The orb itself seemed to pulse and change in intensity, as if alive and aware of its surroundings. The mist swirled around it, as if drawn in by its mesmerizing glow. The scene was both eerie and enchanting, inviting and repelling at the same time.

Rico stepped cautiously into the eerie and foreboding landscape, his eyes scanning the twisted, gnarled trees and the thick, misty fog that seemed to cling to everything. The ground beneath his feet was spongy and damp, and he could feel the weight of the thick, oppressive air pressing down on him. He could hear the faint sound of distant screams and the eerie whispering of unknown voices, carried on the wind.

As he made his way towards the center of the liminal area, Rico couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. Every rustle of the leaves, every snap of a twig, sent his heart racing. And then, he saw it. The wooden object that had fallen and disappeared before, its surface slick with moss and slick with age, lay half-buried in the ground. It seemed to glow with an otherworldly light, drawing him closer despite the fear that gripped him.

Rico approached the object slowly, his hand reaching out tentatively to touch it. As his fingers brushed against the wood, a feeling of unease washed over him, as if the object was somehow alive and aware. He couldn't help but feel that he was trespassing in a place that was not meant for human eyes.

The longer he stayed in this strange and mysterious place, the more Rico realized that he was in a realm beyond his understanding. The rules of physics and reality seemed to have shifted and twisted, making him feel disoriented and lost. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched, that something was lurking just beyond the edge of his vision. He knew that he needed to leave this place as soon as possible, but he couldn't shake the feeling of awe and wonder at the incomprehensible nature of this location.

Rico's body was jolted as Enoch, in the form of a majestic butterfly, flew towards him. The creature's wings glimmered with an otherworldly light, and Rico felt a sensation akin to a bolt of lightning coursing through his body as Enoch merged with his soul.

As Enoch's essence melded with his own, Rico felt a deep freeze envelop his body. But within that freezing embrace, his mind was alight with a plethora of knowledge and understanding. He could see the secrets of the universe, the mysteries of time and space, and the workings of Origin. It was overwhelming, and Rico felt as if his mind was going to burst with the sheer volume of information.

As he struggled to process all of this new knowledge, Rico's gaze was drawn to the floating orb that hung in the sky. It pulsed with an ethereal light, and Rico felt as if it was calling out to him. He was filled with a sense of wonder and amazement as he realized that this was the source of all magic in this realm.

The experience was both eerie and wonderful, a mind-blowing revelation that left Rico feeling both humbled and awestruck. He couldn't help but feel grateful for the gift of knowledge that Enoch had bestowed upon him, even as he struggled to process and understand it all. It was a moment that would stay with him forever, and Rico knew that his life would never be the same again.

Rico stood there, staring in amazement at the vivid and dreamlike scenes that seemed to embody all the knowledge in the universe. He watched everything from the birth of the sun to the formation of solar systems, the rise of life, and the extinction of species. He then observed a big ball of nothingness develop from a pile of matter and create worlds after an explosion.

Rico's brain, however, could only store a fraction of this knowledge. Nevertheless, he was aware of his circumstances and the nature of the stone artifact that had brought him here. This was either a realm with distinct laws or a dimension, depending on how you looked at it.

Rico had no true notion of who the true founder of this universe was, but in most mythology, they were revered as the creator deity in a place surrounded by an abyss, called Enoch. He also learned about the universes of Earth and the one in which this world existed, and they were not the same, nor was this dimension. This cosmos was infused with a force known as chaos, which was the wellspring of all energy, capable of both creation and destruction.

The purpose of the creator in creating this universe was to obtain Origin - the chaos outside must be refined, purified, and polished to generate a more refined source of energy. Origin was said to be very powerful, and its source was the cleansed, good-free chaotic energy. With enough Origin, one would be essentially omnipotent and able to create anything they desired.

As soon as the butterfly merged with Rico's consciousness, he had the power to rule this world and utilize the Origin to change and improve it in any way he pleased. Rico appeared to materialize home after emerging from the foggy area, possibly by teleportation. Utilizing this time for thought, Rico summarized the laws of the disc world and the visions he had experienced. It was almost morning.

Rico, who was normally a gourmet and a glutton, didn't feel hungry at all. He hadn't eaten since the day before, yet he wasn't hungry. Instead of thinking about food, Rico lay in bed and thought about the disc world and how it would change and continue to change his life.

Rico, a solitary individual who values solitude above friendship, was entranced by the prospect of building and shaping a universe. He loved reading books, playing video games, and building amazing things, watching his field develop, and playing sandbox games. Now that he had complete authority over a universe and a surplus of Origins, Rico was determined to alter the disc universe, even if it meant sacrificing meals and his favorite activities to avoid making a mistake.

Rico devoted his entire attention to the disc world for the next few days. He researched planetary formation and at the same time, he worked hard to become acquainted with the disc world's laws. He grew into a real perfectionist. He had the highest levels of zeal and commitment. He put in even more effort than he had when applying to college. After more than a month, Rico was self-assured and started to change the disc world.
