On a trip to deliver items to an empress, Arya and the crew of the ship she works on are attacked by creatures like nothing she has ever seen before. Just when it seems like everyone on the ship is sure to die, Arya sees Magdellana--the goddess who was said to have created their world thousands of years ago--and is given the power of light.
