Synopsis
Detective Argus Khayne of the Babylon Police Department is a talented and driven investigator jaded by both his life in the employ of the Humari Foundation, and by his role as a keeper of the peace on one the most populous and influential planets in the galactic quadrant. It is often said that the galaxy revolves not around the supermassive black hole at its center, but rather around credits, and nowhere else do the credits flow like on the Foundation's capital of Babylon.
Detective Khayne finds himself being the chief investigator on the case when a Temryl gas tycoon is found brutally murdered in his own apartment, not long before Khayne himself recieved a strange and forceful visitor in the night, warning him not to dig too deep into what is about to happen lest he find some things he doesn't like.
The big-city detective quickly finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy that goes much farther than his tiny jurisdiction, and has roots so deep in many galactic governments that they will kill anyone just to keep it under wraps. As the rabbit hole gets deeper, Khayne finds he is no longer trying to solve the case, but merely hoping to make it out of this alive.
