Synopsis
How does an empire fall?
Urr, the greatest power the world had ever known was beset with enemies from within and without. The senate is in chaos, dozens of different factions competing for control. Political gangs roam the streets as preachers spout portents of doom.
A new unified threat on the horizon threatens Urran dominance over the seas. The once fractures land city-states and petty kingdoms of Acta, a land ripe for conquest now united under the great king Nectanbo. Leading his armies to victory after victory against Urr.
But the greatest threat to Urr comes from below. A society built on the backs of slaves kept in check with brutality and fear. A land ripe for rebellion.
In the midst of this, the future of Urr will be decided by two men.
Heron, born a prince of a distant island kingdom, betrayed by those he trusted and sold into slavery. Now wearing a slave's brand, his desire to liberate his brothers and sisters in bondage and punish the ones who hold their chains.
Aurelian, the heir of a great house and the leader of the Actan campaign. His name scorned by all because of his defeats at the hands of a foreign barbarian king. Exiled to die out of sight in the countryside, hated by all and utterly without hope.
The choices of these two individuals will decide the fate of Urr. Will Heron’s legion of the oppressed carve out a land where they can be free from the ruins of Urr? Or will Aurelian return to Urr as the hero that ended the slave uprising and saved the soul of Urr?
Regardless of the future, it is certain that Urr will be forever changed.
