It's approximately year 3208, humans have all but died out. War, plague, and famine decimated the world population to a couple cities around the global. There may be 300,000 people total. North America only has about 75,000 people. The human race is no longer the ruler of the planet - nature is. A worldwide pandemic swept through and killed the first billion people. As we recovered, China and Russia decided to utilize their nuclear bombs. The United States was able to protect itself from them, minus Hawaii, but they ultimately destroyed each other. They are both wastelands now. Both Japan and Hawaii no longer exist as they were reduced to mere sandbars in the ocean. The catastrophic amount of radiation polluted most of Europe and Asia killing off another billion more in the aftermath. The war had halted world trade for two years and then radiation contaminated the food resulting in a unprecedented global famine. However the nuclear bombs from the war did far more than just kill humans. It awoke creatures that had long slept deep underground. Creatures that humans had thought were myth. Dragons...hellhounds...and many horrifying things that the only word humans could use to describe them was demons. The humans became demon prey, further reducing their numbers.  It's time for another war, one that should put an end to wars. At least until the humans return to their former glory. With the dragons in the mix now though things are different. The humans live alongside the dragons; much like how mages have familiars, the dragons have a human. Their bonds are strong.  Will they be strong enough to put an end to the demons though? And what then?
