Yingqu emperor Jia Wen's bloodthirst drives him to invade Zhencheng, a colony of the Kingdom of Beinan. Within a short amount of time, the Yingqus take the capital of Sapphire City. The Crimson Brotherhood, a religious order of wizards, resist the occupation of their homeland. They strike fear in their enemies and inspire respect among their allies through their unconventional methods of war. The story centers around the order and their leader Yin Lang and their exploits against the Yingqu Empire as well as the natives of Zhencheng.
