In a world ruled by the 12 Novum, godlike beings that each embody an element, Humanity is the lowest race. Abandoned by their creator as a failed experiment, humans have been at the mercy of the other twelve races for millenia. Ridiculed or Pitied, Hunted or Ignored, Chased or Exiled, they are seen as lesser beings to be trod upon. But now a new force is coming into to play. Zerran, the Watcher, 13th and Youngest Novum, also abandoned by the 12 at the dawn of creation has decided to take part in the running of the world. Looking among all of the races for a champion, he spies a human boy, downtrodden and ignored, but still bright and living at heart. The world is changing, and humans will no longer be denied.
