There are beings from before the world was solid that still survive amongst the shadows, in the low and high places of the known worlds. These ancient entities, lurking and enduring, predate the civilizations of men, the enlightenment of elves, and even the birth of the first primordial world. They have pushed through the seals of existence, fleeing the wars that have destroyed the heavens themselves. Some were once worshiped as gods, while others are so vast and all-encompassing that natural concepts can never fully define them. Yet, as the infinite heavens burn and primordial war approaches the planes and planets of mortals and immortals alike, these old beings die in countless magnitudes. A few of these ancient creatures, whether out of foolishness, weariness, timidity, or unparalleled cleverness, abandon their Authority, Titles, and Being as gods to insinuate themselves amongst mortals, reduced to flesh and bones themselves.
