When machines have usurped the dignities of civilization and the human race has regressed back into a decrepit agrarian state, a new phase of humanity will be initiated by one curious little boy and his strong desire for something more. Philo, the only one known by his village to have ever left the canyon, discovers an ancient library that houses the boy's newfound mentor, an animatronic bear who teaches him the alphabet and a new way of living.
