In Oo-Auvoo, spirits fall from the sky, magic swims through people's souls, and heroes are made. The land is as colorful as its inhabitants. But to Nettle, life seems to be black and white; she traverses an empty wasteland, her friends and family are dead and forgotten, and it seems so too shall she become dust in the wind. Will the spice of life pass her by? Or will Nettle allow herself to be swept along the torrent, becoming someone new on the way? Conversely, Toliana finds herself living in muted pastels. Living is easy with your nose in a book. But she longs for the vibrancy that saturates the lives of the protagonists in her books. Can she handle the life she desires? Or will she find herself wishing she never wished for something new? Overall, this story is meant to be mostly comedic, even if the first couple of chapters might not seem like it.
