Synopsis
I pushed a small handle and the screen zoomed in towards the figure. I couldn’t believe my eyes at first, but there she was; just a little girl all alone in the middle of a desolate ruin. I can hear her sobbing for her family, for her mother, for anyone to help her in that moment of time.
For a moment, I thought about leaving her and try to find the person I’m tasked to guide. I swiped my hand across the screen but it shifted back to the little girl.
“You’re joking…” I pulled a lever, trying to move my view elsewhere. The screen shifted a little, but it slowly returned.
“No.” I pressed the reset button, nothing happened.
“No, please…” I switched off auto focus, can’t move very far.
POV switch, screen modes, filters, anything that can save me from this horrible reality.
‘Error 137: Out of Range’
I cupped my hand in front of my face and looked away from the screen. “No, no, no, no, no...” I repeated again and again. Gods she’s just a child, dammit! Just how in the name of all existence are you even choosing a Chosen One?!
