Synopsis
In the lack of one ability, one can, often times, gain another.
Magic is an inherit and integral part of the world, assisting in the creation of everything from phones, to cars, to the frozen waffles people buy at the grocery store. Magic was ingrained in every corner of the world and, yet, Ross could not use it. They saw a classmate use their Aura to make their toys dance and sing, saw a friend light their cigarettes with a twist of their wrist, and saw a stranger embed a knife into the skull of another with a glance.
Ross couldn't use magic, they didn't have an aura. Aura Stones never reacted to their touch and lights never clicked on when they entered a room. But at the same time, most spells didn't affect them and wards never blocked them. Where they had a disadvantage in one life, they found an advantage in another.
Ross couldn't use magic, but they were uniquely qualified to be an assassin.
