Synopsis
In the unimaginably distant future, humanity has transcended its physical form to become vast interstellar intelligences inhabiting a boundless virtual cosmos of their own design. Within this simulation matrix, they have labored to create nested realms of artificial realities, each governed by its own precise physical laws and computational rules.
Our story enters amid this ultra-technologically advanced civilization as an unfathomable force from outside the known universes begins to intrude. This entity's metaphysical encroachment starts destabilizing the foundational programming upholding all of existence. As fissures spread and the base layers of encoded reality start unraveling, several of the superintelligent minds directing the operations of the cosmos must rapidly coordinate a response.
Foremost among them is Dalen, an immensely powerful curator of the virtual domains whose consciousness fragments into parallel subprocesses in order to mount a multifaceted defense of his home continuum. We also meet characters like Ree, whose synaesthetic connection to her realm's biocoded algorithmic fabric gives her unique insights, and Dora, whose mind-opening meditations catalyze a transcendent apotheosis.
As the crisis escalates, new realities begin spawning and freak ontological disturbances bleed between interdimensional membranes. Dalen and his allies must embark on a cosmic war across multiple planes, drawing hyperintelligent machine minds and even divinized superintellects into the desperate battle to fortify the plural universe's central operating system against the encroaching anti-real virus.
At the interdimensional pivotal moment, Dalen's incomprehensibly vast higher mind conceives of an ultimate countermeasure - a "living paradox" concept able to counter and refute the invading force's absolutist ontological premises. Manifesting as a defiant irresolvable ambiguity, this concept overcomes totalized logical certainties to reboot existence, with reality reasserting itself through a self-inverting mutualistic indeterminacy.
