“It looks like a Half-Avorti is coming towards town, grab your weapons”. A citizen called as I approached the village. I heard someone else shout back but couldn’t make out what he was saying.
“I’m sorry for the confusion sir i've been informed that you’re part of the group of wandering warriors that has arrived in town” the same citizen said to me as i came within conversation range.
“I am, are my other companions already here somewhere?”
“Yes sir, they are talking to the baron in the town hall.”
“Is it ok if i join them then?”
“Actually sir, first I have to ask you to leave your weapons with me for the time being for safety reasons.”
“Uh….I don’t carry any weapons.”
“What you’re telling me you venture and fight with no weapons that's ridiculous!”
“I’m serious, all I have on me is a skinning knife.”
“Would you mind if I checked to make sure sir.”
“That would be fine.” I raised my arms as the citizen patted me down and seemed to be more in awe in every passing second.
“Wow….you really have no weapons on you, come with me then sir.” He led me through town. I could see that most of the buildings were houses but I noticed a smithy and a church as well as what appeared to be a general trading post. And then there was the town hall, one of the four two story buildings in town, the others being the ones I had noticed previously. However the town hall was at least twice the size of any of the other buildings in town. The citizen who’s name I still did not know led me through the front doors which led into a large area that seemed to be for the village to gather for announcements. Off to one side was a single door that led somewhere I couldn't see since the door was closed. He led me to the back of the gathering hall to where there was a set of stairs leading up to the second floor. The second floor consisted of a hallway with two doors on opposite sides from one another.
“Wait here please while I talk to the baron.” the guard said before knocking on the door to the right and sliding in without waiting for a response. I could hear talking in the room but couldn’t make anything out and the room went silent when the citizen knocked.
“Don’t be paranoid let the man in with his companions none of them will harm me” I heard a loud voice bellow in the room. Shortly after the door opened again and the citizen gestured me inside while staring at the ground. As I walked in I saw a smaller person who appeared to be half Durdan and half Sylvette smiling at me, a tall woman who appeared to be full Orc who looked stoic, a Veshar man in a hooded cloak leaning against the wall with a brooding look on his face, a Human woman playing with her hair and kindly smiling at me, and a large half Orc man sitting behind a desk who had a surprisingly gentle smile on his lips. The room was lit by two candelabras in the back corners of the room. Other than that the desk and chair the Half-Orc man was using was all the furniture in the spacious study.
“Welcome…um what may i call you warrior?” the large Half-Orc man spoke. I realized there was no name option during character creation and realized that the name you would be known by was simply the name you gave people.
“My name is Odhran, baron…” I waited for his name in return.
“Luke but please just call me Luke no need for formalities.”
“Very well Luke, I'm grateful that you allowed me to join my comrades. I swear on my life I will not harm you unprovoked.”
“Smart lad adding that last part, I think we will get along just fine, me and your comrades were discussing your stay in the village.”
“Then please continue. I don't wish to interrupt an important conversation.”
“Now as we were talking about as long as you get along with the villagers and you are willing to help us defend the village if danger is to approach we have no problem letting you all stay here.”
“I think that is quite agreeable Luke. We will be happy to help your village while we are here for the indefinite future.” The Half-Durdan spoke. “But where are we to stay and can we use the store and the smithy while we are here?”
“You can stay in the town hall for now down below. We will get some cots set up for you all, and as for the store and the smithy it’s up to the people who run them, not me.”
“That seems fair, then are we done here for now?”
“Yes I believe we are, it was a pleasure to meet all of you.”
“It was a pleasure to meet you too Luke '' We all mimicked the goodbye before shuffling out of the room and into the hall.
“So who is…” the tall Orc woman began before the Half-Durdan cut her off.
“Not here we should go hunting and talk more now that we are reunited.” We continued on in silence until we reached the edge of town. While we walked I got a chance to take a better look at my companions. The Orc woman was at least six foot six and had greenish blue skin and long brown hair down to her waist. The Veshar man was about five foot ten and had dark gray skin and short silver hair with purple eyes. The Human woman was pale with red hair in a braid that went half way down their back. The Half-Durdan was about four foot five with green skin that had vines growing over it which is how I could tell they were Half-Sylvette, they also had medium length purple hair. Then I waited for my companions to gather their weapons. The Orc woman got a large axe, the Half-Durdan got a small dagger, the Veshar got a small katana, and the Human woman got a staff made of a dead branch. We then proceeded to travel farther into the woods to go hunting. Once we were about twenty minutes from the village the Half-Durdan turned around.

“This should be far enough away, and I'm sorry but I don't know what kind of censoring they do for player to npc interactions.”
“That’s ok but now that we are out here who is who?” The Veshar man leaned against a tree.
“I’m guessing your dorian.” I said to the Veshar man as I sat down.
“How did you guess that?” He seemed confused.
“Because of how hard you're trying to be cool.” Everyone but Dorian proceeded to chuckle for a bit.
“Ok Sherlock who is everyone else then.” Dorian grinned at me as everyone's attention landed on me.
“I'm guessing the Half-Durdan is Rebel, The Orc is Nora and the Human is Aria.” I stated as though it were fact.
“Wow, maybe you are Sherlock. How did you guess everyone right Odhran?” The Half-Durdan Spoke as they also took a seat, the two girls followed suit.
“Well Nora likes to look strong and never show any weakness so the orc must have been her, Aria is caring but is also self conscious so human was the safest bet for her, that only left you as the Half-Durdan.” Everyone sat in stunned silence for a second then Nora and Aria broke out into a grin
“That was rough but true just lille you Odhran always straight to the point.” Nora said then she looked over to Rebel.
“Yes there is that matter to discuss” Rebel spoke than looked at Dorian and I. “We have to decide what server we are going to play on after this first session.”
“What do you mean what server to play on? I'm confused.” Dorian spoke
“There are different servers that open for one hour every day so there aren’t giant gaps in the time we are around.”
“Oh that makes sense, I kinda wondered how they would get around that issue.” I scratched the back of my head
“Me and the girls are thinking that the nine p.m. server will be the best option but we need to know your guys' availability.”
“I'm good for nine i don’t have any classes around that time” Dorian gave an exaggerated thumbs up as he spoke.
“That works for me too since I work when I choose to.” I said
“Good now that that's out of the way, what names has everyone chosen.” Rebel spoke looking at everyone.
“I've just chosen my real name.” I smiled
“So have I.” Nora spoke up
“I’ve chosen the name Luna.” Aria spoke for the first time since we sat down
“I am Viper and before you laugh I read the Veshars background. It is normal for them to be named after animals or plants.”
“I’ve chosen the name Morgan” Rebel gave his name last.
“So what have we learned so far about the game?” I asked the group.
“Why don’t you start since you brought it up.” Morgan said
“Very well I’m sure you have all noticed but we can get a general feel for what direction and how far we are from each other, and it appears the closer we are the more accurate it is. Also to activate an active skill all you have to do is think about using it, obviously passive skills are always on. And when you kill an animal you can skin it to get the pelt of the animal but you can also cut meat out and I assume other parts giving you a new skill called harvest.”
“I didn’t know about the harvest bit so that is useful but i don’t know if the F rank pelts i got will be.” Nora chuckled
“Wait, I got D rank pelts and meat when I harvested my wolves.”
“It must be because your pelts didn’t have any cuts in them I would guess.” Morgan stated “speaking of which we should all tell each other our classes, I’m a sanguine sage.”
“I’m a ninja.” Viper said as he finally sat down.
“I’m a shaman.” Luna said next.
“I’m a berserker.” Nora stated.
“I’m a Monk.” I finished.
“Which is why Ramus was worried about letting you in to meet Luke even though you were unarmed.” Morgan observed.
“Ramus, so that is his name, and yes I would guess that is why.”
“He is the head of the militia here and one of three guards that watch the outskirts of the village. I've heard he takes his job seriously.” Morgan informed me. “Does anyone else have anything to share that you have learned about the game?”
“When using magic you have to know the incantation and draw the correct runes as well as meeting any other conditions.” Luna spoke up.
“That’s good to know.” I stated after that no one spoke.
“How about we go over what kind of monsters there are in the surrounding area.” Viper recommended.
“That is a great idea, I ran into nothing on my way to the village but I spawned on what seemed to be a road to the south of the village..” Morgan sighed.
“I also didn’t run into anything but I spawned rather close to Morgan.” Luna also sighed.
“I ran into some goblins, never fought more than one but they were fast. I spawned in the west of the village, btw there is a bridge across the river.” Nora began sharpening her axe. “We also have to maintain our gear in this game.”
“I ran into some giant insects to the east.” Viper said before copying nora and sharpening his katana.
“I killed three wolves and a dire wolf to the north, also there is a giant wolf in these woods. I think it is a boss creature.” Everyone looked at me with interest.
