Hundreds of human volunteers were chosen to be placed in stasis in what could be considered one of mankind's greatest feat of engineering, a massive colony ship that would orbit the outer edges of the Solar System. In the event a life-extinguishing event was detected on Earth, the ship would set course to the vast unknown reaches of space in search of a suitable planet to sustain the last remnants of human life. In the 29th century, such an event happened. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the colonization vessel, who were already in stasis for several hundred years prior, the plan for humanity's last effort to survive was set in motion. Now, hundreds of years after its departure from Earth's star system, a single survivor wakes up confused and alone on what will eventually become humanity's new home.  However, it seems they're not quite alone on this new planet.
