An unlikely group of students end up at Arydryen's top-ranked magic school, Frozen Hearth. One of said students, Claire, just wants to learn magic to defeat a dangerous enemy. But the others' goals aren't as noble. Two students are part of one of many secret organizations. One "student" is actually the leader of a secret organization. Another is trying to escape a dark, secret past. One girl is unaware of her cursed heritage. The prince of a neighboring empire and his bodyguard are there as well. And yet another, well, what the heck is he doing at a school in the first place? However, in a twist of fate, they end up together somehow. Claire somehow manages to convince them to help her with her noble aspirations, something the others should definitely consider doing.
