Synopsis
Brocton is a city on the border. It is the first line of defense to a threat that has not been present for many lifetimes. Most of the citizens no longer believe in the things that go bump in the night. The old tales are viewed by many as superstitious nonsense from long ago, dismissed as something only the most religious or traditional still believe. The more cynical say the stories only exist to control people, keep the churches full, and the old systems in power. But despite the many years of peace and the complacency that comes with it, instinctively, deep down in the pit of our being, we remember. We are still afraid of the dark.
