Carrying on forward at full pace through the water, a large squid like monster started to match his pace from below. Closing in and coming further this eleven legged large squid monster, with a stump for where it's twelfth leg should have been, was directly underneath.
Then as one of it's legs went out to reach the boat, it simultaneously made contact with a rope that was there. Which was connected to a couple more ropes, that ended with the one tied to his leg. That he had made as his medium of expertise.
Feeling a slight tug there Alec closed his eyes, and made the rope at the bottom moves wrapping around what was the closest. When it did so, Alec was able to sense the shape of what was coming from down below.
So he used the ocean drum to move his boat with the tides, making it turn vertical and the front of the boat facing the sea. His feet meanwhile were fixed to the deck, not moving at all even as the force of gravity opposed him. This was done via the application of two things.
First were the multiple ropes that kept his legs still, and not putting force in any one direction lest it pulled him there. Second was the application of his power on a heavy sets of boot, that he wore while keeping this in mind.
The front of the boat rammed into the large squid like monster, that swam up partly due to its leg being pulled by the ropes. Looking at the falling boat it then prepared to attack the boat as well, and then got repeatedly bit by the jaw like part of the boat.
While the sail boat's face kept biting at the squid monster, Alec released the mast which then launched with a great force. Going directly up and completely opposite to the direction of the sea monster. To which Alec himself jumped after and followed, using the ropes that were holding him now like a trampoline.
Though the distance between him and the mast was big, it soon reached the highest point it possibly could. Then falling down where Alec caught it, then within his hold neither him nor the mast moved. Until it did, then Alec was launched much higher much faster. On the other hand the mast fell down with greater speed then before, directly at the massive multi legged creature.
This was an invocation Alec created, that used the concept of Newton's third law of motion in a distorted manner. While for it to be utilised he had to be moving in completely opposite direction than the object he needed to push. The final result turned out to be this, as he struck down the kraken's spawn much like how Myr's stone spear had.
Stopping the boat from attacking any further Alec then, felt a strong tide of the wind coming from afar. Looking at that direction he lost his entire composure, as he saw a gigantic entity very far away but easily visible to him.
The features that were most noticeable included, the large number of massive tentacles over a hundred perhaps, two red glowing eyes that pierced through the darkness, and a line of different color skin on its head. Which Alec knew was a scary it was given by the spire keeper, in their first and last conflict.
With this Alec was completely brought out of his daze, as he hurried kicked down at the deck of the ship. That despite a few parts having splintered in the earlier skirmish, quickly mashed together and returned to the sail boat's earlier state. Through this Alec had already pulled the mast out, and fixed it on it's place.

Quickly shaking the ocean drum in order to move his boat, Alec then kept throwing away handkerchiefs. Increasing the boat speed rapidly, and during which he then tied a large white cloth that he waved. Buying himself as much distance as possible Alec then sailed further, spending the entire first day of his sailing journey like this.
Rubbing the corner of his eyes, due to feeling tired, he then took out a number of bear traps, and an array of other shooting ones. That he placed in the areas that seemed completely random at first, with some bunched up together and others way too sparse. This only lasted momentarily as Alec went inside under the ship's deck to sleep. Right when he closed the door to that, the ship began to transform from outside.
Turning into a cone like shape that was far more secure, and faster moving than the box-like shape he had built many weeks ago. With that done Alec took a sleep that lasted a couple hours, before he recognised signs of trouble from the outside.
Pushing himself up Alec remained stuck on the bed, due to the seat belts he had kept from falling around in strong tides. Unbuckling them he first drank a mouthful of water, then wore the jacket before heading outside.
Where he could see a single sea monster, that was a couple feet taller than Alec. Which had entered while creating an opening for itself, with the help of a long tail with pincer. A few bear traps were sticking to that tail, clearly having caught in them while climbing up inside.
Alec remembered having faced this kind of creature before, rubbing his arm subconsciously he then stopped it. Snapping his finger for a bit of flair he suppressed the quick tailed monster. Out of which it successfully parried the first couple ropes, but not the tens of which followed after them. Doing this made him voice out a thought.
'I have actually gotten much better. Though there is this one thing in which I did not, maybe this would be my chance.'
Over the many sails which Alec did since that day, he did not encounter this kind of monster again. Even when he actively looked for it the task seemed impossible, this put a halt over him trying to fix the past mistakes he made last time. This did give him time to make plans which he was ready to set in motion now.
Before going with all of that, he made the cone shaped boat back into the sail boat form. This enlarged the boat and allowed Alec to raise the mast, he then put the sails back on there
Doing so he noticed a couple more this kind of monsters, stuck badly while trying to find an opening to his boat. Crushing them one by one he threw them into the sea, saying this in their falling direction.
"Sorry everyone. The one sparring position is occupied, please try again on the next window of opening."
Completed with that he did not sail too fast, having an entire plan to implement right now.
The main goal behind it is for him to be able to realise how to use that foresight, and the danger sensing ability which he used so clearly that day first time using invocation.
Sadly he remembered the entire experience more clearly as a third party, rather than having a clear first person perspective about it for some reason. Which he did not put any greater focus on, releasing the tight grip of his ropes. This caused the scorpion tailed monster to sprint forward, in a much faster speed than Alec had anticipated.
For a brief moment Alec felt his heartbeat race much faster, in his focus there was only tail that had yet to be launched even as the monster moved.
The very second it did Alec felt a piercing weight directed on his forehead, that he held from moving using Invocation. Only letting it go before ducking, while aided by this strange tunnel vision focus. If seen from a third party perspective, it would come out as a skillful near instant dodge by Alec.
This he chose to not pay any attention on, rather keeping in mind the strange ringing that just sounded in his ear. Right before the monster had started to move, and till the moment Alec successful dodged it.
Alec carefully tried to remember this sound, recognising it being similar to the one he heard in the sea but never this loud. Except for the time he had seen the kraken from far away, only he had far more important thoughts at that time than ringing in his ears.
Trying to ingrain this feeling better he looked at the sea monster with a thin outer shell. As it used it's tail to attack Alec's arm much like the previous one he had encountered. Though Alec was much more ready now, as he only got pushed back by the force, due to keeping a rope in between him and the pincer.
The creature followed again and Alec finally felt like he understood this danger precognition. That before the monster could act any further against him, the floor of the deck sprang up. Causing the monster to fall down where Alec aimed one of the shooting trap on it, hitting it directly on the head.
Alec meanwhile did not focus on that, as he had cupped his palms over his ears. Trying to carefully listen to this sound of forewarning, which he felt like needing to master in order to possibly cross this sea.
