When leaving home to start a new life suddenly turns to the wayside leading into a series of heightened daemonic activity and other such misadventures, our protagonist is compelled to step up as a makeshift supernatural investigator… though his temperament leaves a whole lot to be desired. Will he fill the job description well enough to elicit some respect from his new peers both reluctant and hopeful? Or will his ambition to begin a bigger, better life only lead him to being in over his own head even further? In other words, a NATURAL INSTIGATOR or a Supernatural Investigator? Join him on his journey to find it out! Notes: Yes, this is meant to be a first in a series but instead of having one protagonist's story split up in several volumes, I plan to have a different setting (within the same world) and a different protagonist for each volume of Aspect (which is the name of the series). With that said, do EXPECT (it rhymes) some characters here to show up in the next volume!This story attempts to show more than tell, this means that most descriptions are just that, descriptions of what characters would be able to see. Be that as it may, there are some bits of information that I thought absolutely necessary to reveal through narration, although the frequency of this happening is not all that high.It is written, for the most part, in the third person perspective and present tense. I say ‘for the most part’ because there might be a time I forget or overlook writing in this way. Fear not though, I will do my very best to keep things consistent overall, I know how frustrating it can be for tenses to change for no apparent reason.The pacing might end up being pretty slow but as of writing this I do not have a good way of knowing this myself. If you are not a fan of slower stories that take a while to get to action scenes, or to develop a character’s moveset and power level, this might not be the fiction for you. Otherwise I ask you to bear with my (possibly) slow style.Though the year is what it is (you will see when you read) I would place the level of most technology and general aesthetics to be inline with the late nineties and early two-thousands. That notwithstanding, there will be some things that do not fit in that general era, this is a fantasy story at its core after all. With all that said I hope you enjoy this story!
