Necromancer in a modern-day setting. Protagonist isn't overpowered, but ain't no Gary Sue either. Derek's life is thrown into disarray when he wakes up with holograph-like screens everywhere. And then he resurrects a dead person. Once he comes to terms with that, he'll have to get some answers.
