Prologue
The Promise
Marshall Tucker, a man in his forties sat on the couch in front of his daughter. He had on some basic blue jeans and a grey short sleeve short on it, his hair was a buzzcut style as if taking great care of it despite his age he kept a clean profile. he was well defined he never could shake the habit of working out. In front of him was his daughter, they were all that each other had left after his wife left him for some famous actor he had never seen him before but he had caught the text messages his ex-wife had sent him. He imminently divorced her and focused solely on work and his daughter.
His daughter was a beauty, she had long blonde hair that reached her mid-back, it was tied in a ponytail. She applied to make up which he hated mainly cause she was just now 19 in his eyes not old enough to wear it, but it made her happy. She had on blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt with some game on it he wasn't sure league of something is another. "Now dad," She begins has she was holding something behind her. "Do you remember when I was just starting high school the promise you made?" She said eyeing him.
"I remember all my promises sweetheart, but uh for your sake remind me." She twitched at the remark stating he obviously forgot.
"That if I got into a college you would play a game of my choice." He blinked at her, had he made her that promise...

He stated, it was true he had only played pong before and that was about it. Though he did win a national championship in pong that was long ago before he had joined. Uncounsouly he grabbed onto his dog tags from when he joined the army. 20 long years he had served.

She glared at him as he sighed. "So I take it you got in." He said with a smile as she showed him the acceptance letter. He hugged her and cheered. "I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!" He shouted in joy. "and has my promise I am a man of my word! what game is it?" She smiled.
"It's called Edina online! The new VRMMO! it's one of the best and highest rated games out at the moment!" He noded pretending to know what she was talking about has the doorbell rung. "And that is it now!" He blinked she had ordered it ahead of time. She ran to the door and came back with a box has she pulled it out. He inspected the box has she sighed she didn't know why he checked every box that came through the mail it's like he expected them to be a bomb. He opened up the box carefully and saw what looked like a helmet though it covered the eyes and had a mic attached to it he wasn't sure what to do with it has his daughters phone rung.
"Yea, right now! Fine, I got it. no, it's just... yeah ill be there." She sighed has Marshel looked at her worried, "Sry dad I have to go now. You can figure up how to set it up and install the game right." He nodded, "Alright then ill be back later something came up." He noded has she left in a hurry. He then pulled out the rest of the machine and begin to set it up.
one hour later
He sighed as he stared at the console, he looked at the loading bar has it was stuck at 75% for a while.
One Hour Later
He blinked it moved up finally, and then stopped at 85%.
One hour later.
"How the hell are you at 110%." He asked an hour later has it then blinked back down to 93%.
one hour later
Finally your done, He sighed his daughter had been gone for a while but that usually happens he had no idea why. Well if anyone hurt her he would just kill them and show the world the corpse anyways he put the helmet one and then saw white has his vision went into the machine.

"Hello and welcome to Edina Online!" A voice said, has he blinked and looked around for the voice. "Before continuing please decide on your race." Different kinds of humanoid creature appeared in the area has he glanced around it was like he could walk around just fine. Technology sure has advanced pretty far, he thought has he looked around. "Each race has a different attribute and gain proficiencies learning skills differently. Please, take your time looking around at the races." He nodded as he looked around he saw humans, it seems they learn everything equally but nothing faster he was debating going for humans and then he saw it. It was a small creature that looked about four feet tall with chrome skin. It looked mostly like some kind of old robot from a movie back in the day.
"The Creation, a race that was created but abandoned because of their weak attributes however they were granted the ability to think, making them ideal for learning alchemy and potion making." He blinked has he inspected it.
"What is alchemy?" He said out loud as he didn't expect an answer.
"Alchemy is the mixture of herbs and other substances that are mixed with animals, most potions are used to heal one's health or mana, some create explosive results, however." He smiled, the race was perfect he remembered. He didn't leave the army because he wanted to he did because he was scared of how much fun he was having. Explosions in a game though. That was perfect.
