It's 1944 and Daniel King is a corporal in the 82nd Airborne division meant to drop behind enemy lines in Normandy in preparation for D-Day, but when his platoon ends up way off track, isolated from friendly forces, they're massacred, and Daniel is taken prisoner. To his shock, he is hauled into a new world, a fantastical realm of magic and empire, where the Germans hope to carve out a new Reich, far from the powers that seek their end. Freed by a mysterious ally, he must grapple with the realities of this new world, one with creatures wonder beyond his imagining, but also the same darkness that always dwells in the hearts of men, elf and orc alike. In this struggle he finds a few allies, but many more enemies. Will he be able so save this land from the foreign evils which have taken root? Or will this land of eternal war be his grave?
