An unexpected attack on his village by an unknown force leaves Kalen powerless, and the care of his younger sister in his hands. Yet as tragedy continues to unfold around him and a sense of injustice grows in his heart, Kalen learns that the curse he's had since childhood is much more powerful than it seems, and more malevolent. A priest projects his failed ambitions onto a hopeless slave; the morals of a boy lose their meaning. Faith rules a stagnant Empire; men who are condemned to die become a nation's salvation. Those that deserve to die desire to win; a demon screams as the sky falls. What to Expect in Steel Reignfall: This story follows the viewpoints of three separate characters, starting with a simple village-raised boy named Kalen from the beginning. It features a unique magic system, characters with flexible morality and motivations, and some myth and history inspirations. Also note that during the first arc Kalen has no knowledge of magic in this world, so you’ll see some fights with little to no supernatural events happening, they are more realistic and based around his prior familiarity with swordsmanship.  Ie: Don’t expect him to be Goku from the start.
