Synopsis
Dr. Marvin Palmer invented Deep Sound. A form of sound therapy that exposes the brain to frequencies and puts the listener into a state of heightened suggestibility. Carefully crafted stimuli then illicit vivid realistic experiences meant to help patients conquer their fears or cope with their pasts. Consequently he ushered in a new wave of psychics, hotlines, and is credited for saving countless lives with this sound therapy. But how realistic is too realistic?
Dawn, a homeless woman by choice. At least she thinks of it that way, doesn't believe Dr. Palmer is all he's made out to be. She simply can't imagine some frequencies bouncing around her brain and solving all her problems. Too good to be true. When Dr. Palmer reveals his new project titled Sound of the Soul, with a hefty reward for beta testers. Dawn begins to reconsider. Her suspicions however, push her to an outing that forces her to interact with grimy street folk, an encounter with an unlikely companion, and the realization that her habitual photography will land her a headline gig unraveling the mysteries of The City Rose. But that's exactly what she wanted. Right?
