Synopsis
Well, they finally did it. This strange, misfit group of abductees fought off their alien captors, hijacked a ship, and returned back to Earth in... mostly one piece. But there's this thing about relativity -- when you're going close to the speed of light, time slows down for you in relation to the outside world. Ketty already had a vague idea of that, considering that his companions were a Lithuanian cavalry officer, a '70s cowboy wanna-be, and a dated, if lovable, bull of a scoutmaster, not to mention the somewhat pathetic alien pilot they'd... well, let's not sugarcoat it, put a gun to the head of and very politely forced to fly them back or face a grisly death in the uncaring void of space. But stepping off that ship and tasting sweet, fresh air for the first time in months, it didn't really occur to him that he'd been inadvertently jerked fifteen years into the future, crashed down in a completely different state hundreds of miles away (I swear, it's like the concept of American soil is magnetic to alien spaceships), and had basically no way of proving his identity to anyone, given that he'd gotten the worst of their xenos captors' experimentation and was now decidedly more fluffy than usual. He was just happy to be home, beyond that extraterrestrial nightmare and out of their grasp.
But in this world of paranaturals and heroes, you don't get left alone for your happy ending when you're that kind of special.
This is kind of a side project for me to work on while I write up my actual passion project, so a regular upload schedule might be a bit much to ask.
A bit about Since You've Been Gone:
It's an idea I've been playing with for a while, basically your standard, small-time "What if Superheroes" but leaning a bit more realistic (at least as far as that makes sense), mixed with sci-fi, magic, and Southern Gothic aesthetics, along with a mild dose of inspiration from Epilogue, another story on here you should really check out. All the characters are statted out using M&M 3e, and I encourage viewer-submitted character ideas (if you feel like it) because it's gonna be something of a "Villain of the Week" type deal where I roll action scenes out mixed with slice-of-life from our favorite homeless raccoon.
