Synopsis
Sebastion was born into the world as a second son of a first generation noble with an impossibly large legacy; His father, best known as Aegis, was the war hero that held the line against endless hordes of the monsters that drained the world of life in their stead, as walls and towns were built in his shadow.
Sounds great, right?
Turns out, that all meant Seb had responsibilities. Primarily, train at the noble-driven military academy named after his illustrious father that absolutely had no skeletons hidden in the closet, Aegis Academy. Classes there would be focused on combat, tactics, spirit summoning and magic conjuration, the whole shebang. Even though his older brother Franklin had already trailblazed through the academy and fought at the front lines, Seb was supposed to look forward to serving his people as a warrior. Two things make that supposed enjoyment difficult to master: One, Seb was one of a handful of deaf people in a society that was used wordplay as much as swordplay to utilize magic. Two, and much more importantly, he didn't want to fight. He wanted to create, to build new cities in the Outlands that could beat back the life sucking hordes. Luckily, or perhaps not so luckily, a lack of wanting to fight did not make his training any less dilligent or brutal.
If only students would stop challenging him to duels so he could get his Civil Engineering homework done...

Deaf MC, who doesn't have some busted skills but instead earned progression through pain, study, trauma, and a whole lotta stubbornness tenacity. Earth Magic, Puglist Style, and just a big nerd who could rant about aqueducts and geology for hours.
There will be uncomfortable stuff; Ableism, familial abuse (mostly past but still), not-quite gore but still brutal scenes, etc. I'll try and trigger warning most of it when I remember, but still!!

Hey, Vocab here. I'm going to be real with you readers here- I have NO idea how this story will pan out. Sure, I have basic story beats planned, but this work is mostly serving as an outlet for creative energies. I want to make it a fully fleshed story, I just can't promise that it will be. That means there won't be a consistent upload schedule. Sorry in advance.
Besides that, please critique me if you feel the need. I am extremely fallible. If you feel like my representation of something is skewed or just straight up wrong, let me know. As much as I want to make this story a reality, I can't do it without help.
Enjoy :)
