Synopsis
In the beginning, at the dawn of time, our planet enjoyed an era of unprecedented peace. Humans coexisted harmoniously with other mystical races: vampires, elves, fairies, werewolves, and giants. Together, we lived in tranquility, revering the benevolent elementals for their gifts. We thanked them for the life-giving sun, the soothing waters, the playful winds, and the fertile earth that sustained us all.
Yet, as with all tales of happiness, there came an ominous end, one that nearly eradicated the human race. A war erupted a brutal and catastrophic conflict that seemed devoid of purpose or reason. It was a war of annihilation, with each race turning against the others.
Humans, who were the most profoundly affected, found themselves ill-equipped to face the devastating forces of magic wielded by their once-peaceful neighbors. At that critical juncture, humans were only just beginning to explore the untapped potential of something they called "chi." With their limited proficiency in manipulating mana, they had to devise a way to survive in this world of wondrous and perilous enchantments. But their efforts proved inadequate.
As the war raged on, with humanity teetering on the brink of extinction, the benevolent elementals intervened to halt the bloodshed. They separated each race into distinct dimensions, using nearly all of their waning powers to do so. It was a desperate act of salvation, meant to protect the remnants of their creations.
In the aftermath, to safeguard against the possibility of another cataclysmic war, the elementals bestowed their own divine powers upon the humans. With this newfound strength, humans emerged as a force to be reckoned with in a world still shadowed by mystery and uncertainty. The elementals, exhausted from their intervention, retreated into a deep slumber, leaving behind only the echoes of their wisdom and benevolence.
As time continued to march forward, the circumstances and motivations behind that dreadful war remained shrouded in enigma. Its purpose, if it ever had one, remained elusive. Nevertheless, the memory of the war and its devastating consequences would persist throughout the annals of human history, forever etched in our collective memory as "Extinción."
