The story is set in the overpopulated city of Eaverstead, divided into zones that vary in safety. It follows two protagonists: Johan Reed, a 24-year-old private investigator who takes on odd jobs to make ends meet. One day, a seemingly routine case takes a dark turn, pulling him into life-and-death situations. Evelyn Carter, a 25-year-old detective committed to cleaning up the crime-ridden streets of the city. Despite her sharp mind and the few friends she has, she struggles to connect socially, and in her job, she is constantly blocked by her superiors from taking on major cases. When their paths cross, they find themselves trapped in a series of cases that force them to confront their demons, question their morals, and redefine their sense of justice. Warning!! This story explores mature themes, including violence/(especially against women( first arc), societal prejudices, and religious conflict. Of course, it is not the main focus, but the country is in a transition phase (later stages, like 20 years after the change), and new laws clash with tradition, e.g., giving women more rights, not executing apostates, etc. I want to add this just in case some people are sensitive, but as I said, it won't be the main focus. Only certain groups/cults who refuse to move on will go to extra lengths.
