Synopsis

The world has been ravaged by relentless natural disasters, reducing society to crumbling refugee camps and lawless wastelands. David has spent the last few years keeping his nine-year-old sister alive after their parents died, working as an enforcer in one of the largest camps. His job is simple: maintain order and crack down on anyone who threatens the fragile system—including Amari, a cunning thief who’s made it her mission to defy him at every turn. She’s reckless, untrustworthy, and an infuriating thorn in his side. She steals to survive. He enforces the rules to protect what little structure they have left. They hate each other.   Then government officials arrive with an offer that changes everything: a one-way ticket to Eden, a newly formed utopia, but only for families. No exceptions. For David, this is his only shot at getting his sister out of the camp before it collapses. And for that, he needs Amari. Their marriage is nothing but a transaction—she’s his ticket to safety, and in return, she gets the protection of a secure future. Neither of them wants this, but survival has never been about want.   Forced into close quarters, pretending to be a loving couple, David and Amari wage war in their own way. Every shared glance is a battle, every forced touch an uncomfortable reminder of their situation. But the longer they fight side by side, the harder it becomes to ignore the truth: Amari is more than just a street rat, and David is more than just a ruthless enforcer. She’s fierce, clever, and willing to risk everything for those she loves. He’s disciplined, determined, and carrying more burdens than she ever realized.   When Caleb, a warlord from Amari’s past, emerges with his own plans for Eden, everything spirals out of control. Amari’s secrets threaten to destroy their fragile arrangement, and David is forced to confront an impossible truth—what started as a lie is becoming something dangerously real. But in a world where love is a weakness and trust is a gamble, will they make it to Eden as allies… or as something more?
