After the end of a violent war, a young veteran mage seeks to rebuild his life in a small countryside town with the help of a local noble house. He cares for a magical beast he saved during his last battle, a little owl capable of speaking and full of its own mysteries. With his fluffy companion and a new life to build, the mage settles into the countryside. However, something tells him that his peace won't last long, as politics and post-war problems quickly catch up to him.
