Nearly two-hundred years have gone by since the Ringbearers departed, and already the events recorded in the Red Book are nearly legend. After wandering the world for some years, Caladan, son of a Gondorian noble, decides to etch his own legend into the many tales of Middle Earth by venturing into that place where none have dared trod for decades: into Mordor, to seek the remnants of the Dark Tower--and aught that may remain within. Joined by Grôfr of Erebor and Mirilen, an Elven-woman with a mysterious past, he may yet find more than he has bargained for as he ventures deep into the land of shadows where darkness lies.
