I was writing for my other story, Amethyst Phoenix, when I thought of an interesting character and basic story. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a compelling way to incorporate it into Amethyst Phoenix, so I had the idea to just post it separately. So... Here it is. P.S: If anyone is interested in Amethyst Phoenix, the progress has been pretty good. I think I'll be done with book 1 in a few months and then I'll release the chapters here as I go through the (tentatively) final edit.
