Synopsis
Welcome to Spritespring Hollow, a small, peaceful nook nestled in the northern forests of the Kingdom of Balnochy. Hollie Townes has awoken to find herself in possession of a small cottage in the middle of the woods, without any memory of where she came from or any knowledge of her new home. As she finds her way around, she’ll make friends, learn new skills, grow her garden, craft items, cook delicious food, and even personalize her cottage. Once she's leveled up enough, she’ll be ready to explore the wider world, discover its magic, unravel its mysteries, and take on the task that has summoned her here: to save the Kingdom of Balnochy from a force that would wipe it from existence forever. Come along as Hollie discovers a world of beauty, enchantment, warmth, coziness, and adventure—and along the way, she might even find the answer to who she really is and why she was brought here.
I've sold some cozy fantasy stories to literary magazines over the past couple of years, but I thought it might be fun to write a continuous series that could best be described as a Cottagecore Cozy Fantasy Slice of Life LitRPG. Inspired by my love of games like Stardew Valley and books like The Wind in the Willows and The Hobbit, and of course the beautiful, ever-beckoning landscape of England, Secrets of Spritespring Hollow seeks to be an immersive writing and worldbuilding project that allows readers to escape into a mysterious world full of adventure, beauty, and wonder, and where comfort, good food, and even better friends always await at the end of the day.Apart from the story itself, Secrets of Spritespring Hollow is accompanied by an active World Anvil site that is constantly being updated with new entries, artwork, maps, recipes, and stat sheets.
If you would like access to the stat sheets I use as I write, you can find it here: Reader Stat Sheets for Spritespring Hollow. These are not filled out like the one I use, so you are welcome to make a copy and edit them yourself if you would like as you read along.Chapters will generally run between 2,000 and 4,000 words and are planned to be released once per week.Thank you for taking time out of your day to read! Also, if you've enjoyed any of my stories, or the maps and other worldbuilding goodies that go with them, and would like to support what I do but do not use PayPal, you can "buy me a coffee" on here. Any donations help to maintain the World Anvil site, my author website, and the other tools I use for writing and worldbuilding.
