The cavern that the DawnBreaker Sect uses for the entrance exam is not a normal cavern. It is a cavern containing many yellow crystals known as Sun Crystals. The Sun Crystals are formed from a large exposure of both sunlight and Light Qi. As they acclimate to their surrounding the Sun Crystals begin to create their own Light Qi.

Sun Crystals receive sunlight from the sunlight refracts off the normal quartz in the cavern and absorb it the same way plants do. But in this case, the crystals transform the sunlight into Light Qi. Light Qi is a different type of qi that takes on some of the properties of light and many other things that have a direct relationship or, are associated with light.

Actually almost anything that exists has a type of qi with similar characteristics. But it very hard to make most types of qi due to the lack of that thing. There are few things that know how to transform into different types of qi.
