After attempting to end his own life, the troubled college dropout Seth is saved by a mysterious creature named Vixy who belongs to a brood of hybrids known as the werescales. Her ferocious bite accidentally infects Seth, turning him into a werescale like her. Begrudgingly, Seth accepts his new role as an initiate of the brood while mentored by Vixy. Over time, the two grow into an inseparable duo, each learning the value of vulnerability, confidence, and the true meaning of companionship.
