Dylan thought fondly of his first beta, as he stared at the orange digits counting down. He'd smashed his way through that cave of zombies, only to be schooled by the big Cthulu starfish monster in the depths. He'd ground his face against it for hours before he finally wised up and started searching the area for useful items.

Go figure, the fish monster was weak to fire. He'd had to break down a few items to improvise the torch, but it had granted him 10 uses of the [Flame Breathing] skill. That had felt badass as hell, breathing fire like a dragon, melting the starfish creature away. One of his favorite gaming moments of all time, that.

That felt like a long time ago, now.  A different lifetime, one where he didn't have to work.

There had been many closed betas. Many open beta characters.

All leading up to this moment.

Beta was done. This was launch day, baby. And the first one to max level would become the official streamer for Savagery Online. It was a limited contract, sure - for a one month term.

For an unknown nobody like Dylan though, that one month would be the big break that would get his name out there. He'd never had a chance, with big names like Kahhl and Manger taking 95% of the market.

If he could get an audience, he could go pro. He could quit his day job, and follow his passion.

He checked his stream. 1 viewer.

"Thanks for watching, mom", he said, knowing she would hear the audio, even if she wasn't actually watching.

Well, the camera was rolling - he knew anything he said here might get watched by millions of people if he made it big.  Or nobody, most likely.  So no pressure, really.

"Pardon my language, people. But this is about to be the coolest shit that nobody watched!"

Plans were already playing themselves in his head.  What he would do based on the spawn location.  The builds he would need to choose from.  Savagery was a roguelike MMO, so nothing ever stayed set in stone.
