After years of battling his inner demons, the Lord of Nightfall has finally returned home. However, the Kingdom he comes back to is a stark contrast to the one he remembers from his youth. Much has changed, and unfortunately, very few of those changes are for the better. Voltaine's future hangs in the balance as the Ascended and the King's actions risk provoking a destructive war with a Child of the Gods. To make matters worse, Viktor finds himself lacking in allies and facing an ever-growing number of dangers that surround him.
