Synopsis
Hey, kids!
So, some of you know I've been working on a sequel to Nor by Might for some time. It's called Saints & Ghosts.
Well, it's more like a continuation. Maybe a re-visitation. See, that first one was about the boy Tommy's messianic misadventures, and his arc is pretty much done by the end. I would like to revisit him, in his later years, reckoning with the trail of dead behind him, but I'm not sure I'm the kind of writer to pull that off.
Rather, Saints is about Alena, the girl who started out a bit player in Might, but wound up being quite integral to that story's resolution. I felt like I never gave her enough time on the page, owing to the way that story was constructed.
But she deserves her own story, one that stands on its own.
See, it originally started with a scene. Into it walked Alena, returning to a certain underground chamber, in a familial kingdom, beneath the scarred streets of Old Angeles.
"I'm here for my birthright," she says, aiming a sixgun at the usurper on the throne. "And I'm here for your [redacted] head." Sounds fun, don't it? Anyway, that's how it STARTED... I even wrote that scene.
But these things sometimes get out of hand, and now I'm stuck. So I'm gonna release what chapters I have and see what you lovely folks think. Four chapters are up so far. More are coming. There's room for feedback and reviews. If you like it, tell me what works. If you don't like it, I hope you tell me why it sucks.
The setting has been described as "post-apoc Western," but there's room for witchcraft and zombies. And some high tech. It's a little weird, a little fun.
Cover art is pending, but might eventually include a revolver, a rosary, and a pair of bright green eyes.
(oh, and thank you for stopping by, and for the gift of your eyeballs)
