Wham!
Blood splattered; teeth flew, rolling down the crooked damp floor.
“Get yar act together, ye hear!?” she slouched, trying hard to not fall over. “It’s been two years, she’s gone!”
Shaking like she had late stage Parkinson’s… no, she actually did have late stage Parkinson’s. The woman’s name was Goblina. She was exactly forty-three, but by goblin standards, she was over one hundred years.
“Stop hitting me!” cried the young goblin beneath her feet. “I know she’s gone. But I can’t forget her! I loved her!” Face a bit swollen, tears streaming, he barely contained the anger within. However, he knew better than to actually protest against the lady before.
Why?
“Huh!? Love? She’s dead you imbecile!” She growled, almost pummeling the kid again. Almost- because she sprawled forward, breaking her back instantly. “Argh!”
“Grandma!” The goblin spawn hurried. He forgot the sharp pain on his wrinkly brown face and blitzed straight for the living quarters, shouting ‘Grandma Fell.’

Took two minutes.
Two minutes for the whole community to show up. No, community wasn’t the right word. It was Family. Two hundred and eighty-four goblin… all family.
“Grandma!!”
“Grandmother!”
“Granny!”
All of them, all the young ones referred to her as grandma. And there was a good reason for that. All her children were dead. The few that were left, were so old that they could hardly get out of bed. Her family most consisted of her grandkids and her great grandkids.
It was a miracle she, herself could move in the first place. However, that miracle was at its end. After all, she knew… this was it.
“Farewell… young on- Jargo WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EATING, YOU RUNT!” She threw her stick straight at the absentmindedly kitty litter chomping goblin, knocking him out with a thud. Crack! If her back wasn’t broken before, it was certainly broken now. “ARghh….”
The lights gradually went out, as her ears were drowned with sobs and cries.
Not a bad way to go, I guess.

Soft murmurs… the sound of water? No, just underwater?
No… splash!
Light!
I’m not dead?
“It’s a girl~!” the woman shouted.
A girl? Of course, I’m a girl!
Waoh-woah! Why are you lifting me! unhand-
Why’s my mouth not working? My hand? Why’s everything so blurry and… wait- large?
No, I’m tiny.
It took her a minute.
No, it took her quite a few minutes. She slowly watched the whole room, then herself, then the woman behind her, from whom she supposedly came out of and the faces around her. She didn’t recognize a single one, and none of them were goblins, but she knew what this meant.
I’ve been reborn!
